If there is one tenet I have as a teacher, it’s the value of communication. As teachers, we must ensure the families of our kiddos are in the loop when it comes to what we are doing in class. This way, families can help reinforce what we are doing in the classroom, and at the same time, get a clue as to what to ask their kids about after school.
The act of sharing a little about or day-to-day can make a massive impact on keeping the conversation going between parent and child. I don’t care if you teach preschool or twelfth grade – the value of communication cannot be underestimated.
